Taken to Premiere on Friday, September 9

On Friday, September 9, 2016, at 7:00 p.m., APTN will air the first two episodes of Taken, back to back.

The first episode features Tina Fontaine, a 15-year-old girl whose body was found in Winnipeg’s Red River, igniting the conversation of the issue of Canada’s missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls around the globe.

The second episode features the stories of Alberta Williams, and Ramona Wilson, young women who went missing from British Columbia’s notorious Highway of Tears.

In the following weeks every Friday, APTN will air one thirty-minute episode of Taken, at 7:00 p.m. Each episode takes audiences across the nation to share the stories of Canada’s missing and murdered Indigenous girls.

With each episode comes a call to action – anyone who has tips on any of the featured cases, or the cases of any of Canada’s missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls, please follow this link to share your information, and help solve these cases.

Beautiful, shocking, truthful, touching, heartbreaking, and inspiring, Taken introduces viewers to girls and women who have been the victims of violence, and to the families left behind to honour their memory and fight for justice.
